The film clips and audio recordings that can be found in the Video/Audio department portray a mosaic of voices and pictures of the Camino de Santiago: pilgrims, on the road or after their return, wardens, quirky characters and people who have become experts on the Camino, be it due to their own experiences or their wide reading; all of these provide the Camino de Santiago with a visage and a voice. No matter in what language they are written, whether based on personal experiences or collective ones: the contributions address in all their privateness always the public reception of the Camino as well. At the same time they exemplify impressively the Camino’s broad echo that reverberates in today’s society. The reports are being complemented by legends, entertaining short narratives and anecdotes which have all taken place on the Road to Santiago; these then make their rounds among the pilgrims. As varied as the different articles may be (you will find even poems or prayers) – they all attest to the diversity and liveliness of the languages that have always been spoken along the routes of the Road to Santiago.
